1. Who we are
SearchAZ (“we”, “us”) operates the people-search service available at this website. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach our privacy team at support@haznedartech.com.
2. Data we collect from users
- Account data: the email address you use to create your account and unlock reports.
- Search data: the names, countries, cities and any other hints you enter, the reports we generate for you, and when you ran each search.
- Billing data: your subscription plan, status and payment history. Card details are entered directly with our payment provider, Stripe; we only receive a token, the card brand and the last four digits.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device information, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the pages you visit, collected through server logs and essential cookies.
- Communications: emails and messages you send to our support or privacy teams.
3. Data about people who appear in search results
When you run a search we collect information about the named person from publicly available sources at that moment, for example public social-media profiles, dating profiles, people directories, news articles and other public web pages. Each finding is stored together with a link to the public source it came from and kept as part of your report. We process this data on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a people-search service, balanced against the interests of the people concerned. Anyone who appears in results can ask us to remove their information; see our Remove my data page.
4. How we use personal data
- to run your searches and generate, store and display your reports;
- to create and manage your account and subscription, and to process payments through Stripe;
- to prevent abuse, enforce rate limits and keep the Service secure;
- to send you transactional emails about your account, searches and billing;
- to analyse how the Service is used so we can improve it;
- to comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
5. Legal bases (GDPR / KVKK)
Where the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation or the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK) applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (providing the Service you signed up for), legitimate interests (running searches on public data, security, fraud prevention and product improvement), consent (optional marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time) and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).
6. Who we share data with
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with:
- Payment processing: Stripe, which processes your payments and stores your card details.
- Search and AI providers: the query you enter (name, country, city and optional hints) is sent to the web-search and language-model providers we use to retrieve and organize public information.
- Infrastructure: hosting, database and email-delivery providers that store or transmit data on our behalf under data-processing agreements.
- Authorities: where we are legally required to, or to protect the rights and safety of our users, the public or SearchAZ.
7. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies and similar browser storage to keep you signed in and to protect the Service from abuse. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can clear cookies in your browser settings, but the Service may not work correctly without the essential ones.
8. How long we keep data
- Account data: for as long as your account exists, and up to 30 days after you ask us to delete it.
- Search reports: for 12 months after your subscription ends, unless you delete them earlier.
- Billing records: for as long as tax and accounting laws require (typically up to 10 years).
- Server logs: up to 90 days.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, KVKK and the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority (for example the Turkish Personal Data Protection Board, your EU supervisory authority or the UK ICO).

10. Security
We protect personal data with encryption in transit, access controls, passwordless sign-in and regular security reviews. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we will notify you and the relevant authorities of any breach as required by law.
11. International transfers
Our providers may process data in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses to protect those transfers.
12. Children
The Service is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors as users. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the “Last updated” date; for material changes we will also notify you by email.
